虹の橋
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
天国の少し手前に「虹の橋」と呼ばれる所があります。
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
この世で誰かにずっと寄り添っていた動物が死んだ時、
そのペットは「虹の橋」へ行きます。
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and play together.
そこには草地や丘があり、私達のかけがえのない友達は、
みんなで走り回って遊ぶ事ができます。
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine; and our friends
are warm and comfortable.
豊富な食べ物・水・日差しがあり、私達の友達は、
暖かく快適に過ごします。
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
病気だったり年老いていた、すべての動物達は健康と活力を取り戻します。
怪我をしたり不自由な身体は、元気で強い身体を取り戻します、
まるで私達が覚えている、過ぎた日の夢のように・・・。
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing:
they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.
動物達は、ただ一つの事を除いて、幸せで満ち足りています。
彼等は残された、ある特定の人が居ないのを寂しく感じているのです。
They all run and play together, but the day comes
when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
動物たちは、みんな一緒に走り回って遊んでいます、

His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.

faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again.

your hands again caress the beloved head,
